Arrival alerts, so you know they got home
Orbily can tell you when someone in your orbit arrives home or leaves work, using the location they already share with you. The alert never includes an address or a map position, and each person decides whether their own arrivals and departures are announced.
Join the betaHow do arrival alerts work?
When someone shares their live location with your orbit and arrives at, or leaves, home or work, Orbily tells the orbit — “Joe left work”. Arrivals and departures are separate switches, both on to begin with, and each person controls their own.
Does Orbily need my home address?
No. You can set home and work yourself, or Orbily can suggest them from where you spend your nights and working days, using only the location you chose to share. Either way, your home and work pins stay private to you: the orbit sees that you are home, never the address.
Which places can send alerts?
On the free plan, alerts cover home and work. When anyone in an orbit has Orbily Plus, the whole orbit also gets alerts for saved places, safe pins and the places events happen — each of which can be switched off.
Is an arrival alert the same as a safety boundary?
No. An arrival alert says someone got somewhere. A safety boundary is an area two people have agreed on, for set times, that tells the person who asked if the other leaves it. A boundary is always asked for first.
More questions about arrival alerts
Yes. Arrivals and departures are separate switches in your settings, and you can turn either off at any time.
No. Alerts come from the location you share with that orbit. When you stop sharing, they stop too.
