How to share your location for a limited time

Sometimes you only want to be on the map for the walk home or the evening out. Orbily's timer shares your location for as long as you choose, then stops by itself and tells the orbit.

Step by step

  1. Open the sharing controls

On the orbit's map, tap the sharing pill. It shows how you are sharing with this orbit right now.

  2. Choose A timer

Pick 15 or 30 minutes, 1, 2 or 4 hours, an evening time, or until midnight.

  3. Go

Your pin appears on the orbit's map with a countdown. You can stop early at any time from the same pill.

  4. Let it run out

When the time is up, you get a notification, sharing stops by itself, and the orbit is told. Your live position is deleted.

Can a timer last longer than a trip?

No. In a temporary orbit, a timer never runs past the orbit's end.

Questions people ask next

No. Every orbit has its own choice, so a timer in one leaves the others as they are.
