A private chat for each orbit, beside the map and the plan

Every orbit in Orbily has its own chat. It sits beside the map and the shared calendar, so the plan, the conversation and where everyone is stay in one place instead of three apps. Two people in an orbit can also message each other directly.

What can I send in an orbit's chat?

Messages, up to ten photos at a time, replies and reactions. Status updates, events, polls, shared places and check-ins appear in the chat as cards, so the conversation keeps its context.

Are direct messages private?

Yes. A direct message between two people in an orbit is delivered only to those two people. Nobody else in the orbit, admins included, can read it.

Can I delete a message?

Yes. When you delete your own message, its text, its photos and any location in it are erased from the server, not just hidden.

How long is chat history kept?

On the free plan, an orbit's chat shows the last 30 days. With Orbily Plus, it shows a year. Safety messages, such as an SOS, are always kept.

Does the chat work offline?

No. The chat needs a connection, on purpose: a message that looks sent but is not is worse than one that says it can't go yet. Calendar entries, photos and places do save offline, and sync when you are back.

More questions about orbit chat

Not for everything. Orbily's chat is for the people in an orbit, next to their map and plan. It is not a general messenger, and there are no chats outside orbits.
